Fundamentals

In a nutshell, there are two things you need to do, to get your product or service on TV: make the advert and buy the media-time to air it.

Production

To make your advert you will need a production company. This doesn't have to mean huge budgets though. The cost of production has dropped, with decent adverts being made for as little as £10,000, even less if you call in favours or star in the advert yourself. Our email newsletter outlines a detailed and accurate breakdown of the costs of producing your advert.

Media Buying/Planning

Buying the media is something you can do yourself. A phone call to the channel of your choice is all you need. If you do decide to go it alone, the Media Maths, Channel Profiles and Audience Data information featured in our infocentre eBook will help. However, using a media buyer will not cost you a penny and you will benefit from their knowledge, expertise and resources. It will also mean that you have unbiased access to all the TV channels available in the UK.

By registering for our email newsletter you can receive a more in-depth explanation of media buying, even explaining how you can earn money when you use a media buyer.
